I KNOW THERE ARE SEVERAL PEOPLE IN OUR EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP TEAM THAT REALLY HAVE NO APPETITE FOR PARKS AND ANIMALS AND PLA SPLASH PADS AND SUCH, AND FIND MONEY FOR OTHER THINGS, WHICH WE ALSO NEED.

BUT PART OF KEEPING OUR CITY BEAUTIFUL IS MAKING SURE THAT WE DON'T HAVE ANIMALS WITH MANGE AND DISEASE WANDERING THE STREETS, ANIMALS THAT GET HIT BY CARS AND THEY'RE JUST LAYING BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND NO ONE COMES TO PICK THEM UP EXCEPT FOR PEOPLE LIKE US WHO PUT A LINER DOWN THE BACK OF OUR CAR AND PUT 'EM IN THERE.

OTHER PEOPLE WHO HELP THESE ANIMALS THE BEST THEY CAN, BUT WE NEED HELP.

THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE THAN PRAYERS AND MORE VOLUNTEERS.

WE HAVE TO HAVE SOME KIND OF A FACILITY.

SO I THINK THAT THIS GIVES US GREATER FLEXIBILITY THAN WHAT THEY ORIGINALLY PROPOSED.

WE CAN DO OUR BEST TO MAKE SURE IT'S DONE IN THE SUMMER OR DURING THOSE OFF HOURS, BUT REQUIRING IT TO BE DONE IN SUMMER.

AND I CAN'T ANSWER ALL THOSE QUESTIONS BECAUSE UH, THAT WAS, UH, JUSTIN STOKER WAS WORKING ON THAT.

SO I'M NOT SURE WHAT THE COORDINATION THAT HE HAD WITH THE COUNTY ON THAT PORTION ON THE, I WANNA SAY THE WEST SIDE OF IF IT 64.

I CAN CHECK ON THAT AND, AND CHECK FIND OUT.

SO MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT IT'S GONNA STAY THE 21 FEET, UH, WIDE AND THEY'RE NOT GONNA MAKE IT 24 FOOT WIDE ON THE WEST SIDE, BUT THEY DON'T EVEN BUILD OUT PAST THE 24 FEET.

THEY GO TO 21 FEET AND STOP HARD.

SO THAT'S GONNA BE A STOP HARD DITCH AT 21 FEET WIDE.

AND I UNDERSTAND THAT LEADING TO 24 PLUS A LITTLE EXTRA FOR LIKE THE RUNOFF.

SO, AND BASICALLY RIGHT THERE IS, IS UH, YOU KNOW, THE CITY STANDARDS IS IS DIFFERENT AND THE THING IS RIGHT, CITY STANDARDS IS 27 FEET.

SO THAT'S THE, GIVES YOU THE, THE TWO LANE ROAD PLUS THE SHOULDER AND THEN YOU HAVE SPACE FOR THE, THE DITCHES.

UH, IN THIS CASE RIGHT HERE, IT BECAUSE OF COSTS AND BECAUSE OF IT IS A COUNTY DOING THE CHIP SEAL, UH, BASICALLY WAS JUST TO MATCH THE EXISTING PAVEMENT WITH AND NOT MAKE IT WIDER.

SO I FEEL LIKE SOME OF THAT CITIZENS WERE MISLED.

UM, 'CAUSE I FEEL LIKE WE WERE ALSO MISLED ON THIS COUNCIL WHEN, WHEN WE GOT THERE AND WE SAW THAT WE'RE BUYING A BUILDING, WE STILL HAVE TO BUILD WHAT WE ACTUALLY THOUGHT WE WERE COMING HERE TO LOOK AT.

UM, SO JUST TO PUT THAT TO BED, UM, I DON'T KNOW WHERE THE $16 MILLION THAT WAS ALLOTTED CAME FROM, 'CAUSE WE DIDN'T EVER HAVE THAT.

UM, BUT THAT WAS THE PROJECTED, ESTIMATED COST ON THE SHELTER ITSELF AT THAT TIME, IF WE USED THAT STRUCTURE AND THE LAND ADJACENT.
