I KNOW YOU'RE USED TO SEEING DARLENE'S FACE, BUT BUT YOU HAVE ME THIS EVENING.

I JUST WANTED TO GIVE YOU A, A QUICK UPDATE AND THANK YOU AGAIN FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE DONE A TOUR OF THE TRI-CITIES ANIMAL SHELTER AND HAD CONVERSATION WITH US ABOUT, UH, OPPORTUNITIES TO PARTNER WITH OTHER CITIES TO BUILD A STATE-OF-THE-ART SHELTER FOR OUR COUNTY.

UH, IT'S, IT'S ALWAYS EXCITING TO SEE, UH, PEOPLE ENGAGE AND LEAN INTO.

I KNOW YOU GUYS HAVE MANY, MANY THINGS TO WORRY ABOUT.

THIS IS JUST ONE OF THOSE, BUT WE FEEL REAL STRONGLY ABOUT THIS BECAUSE AN EXCELLENT COMMUNITY, ONE OF THE THINGS THEY DO IS HAVE EXCELLENT SERVICES FOR THEIR CITIZENS.

AND AN AN EXCELLENT ANIMAL SHELTER IS CERTAINLY, CERTAINLY ONE OF THOSE AND REPRESENTATIVE OF WHO WE ARE AS EACH CITY IN THIS COUNTY.

I WANTED TO GIVE YOU A QUICK UPDATE, UH, BESIDES THE SHELTER, OH, WE HAVE HAD NUMEROUS, WE'VE HAD THREE TOTAL TOURS WITH A NUMBER OF OFFICIALS FROM OTHER CITIES AND FROM THE COUNTY THERE, SO THAT EVERYBODY HAS A GOOD PERSPECTIVE OF WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE TO HAVE A STATE-OF-THE-ART SHELTER IN A PARTNERSHIP.

WE'RE ALSO WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH A FLYING BEE.

WE CONTINUE TO DO THAT ALL OVER THE COUNTY FOR LOW COST SPAY AND NEUTER.

PET COALITION IS FUNDING SOME OF THAT THROUGH, UH, DONATIONS AND CONTRIBUTIONS SO THAT WE'RE TRYING TO HELP WITH THE SOURCE OF THE STRAY ANIMAL, UH, PROBLEM WE HAVE ALSO, UM, MEETING TONIGHT, WE HAVE ABOUT 70 VOLUNTEERS MEETING TONIGHT AND WORK WORKSHOP TO WORK ON DIFFERENT AREAS THAT WE CAN TO MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS IN THIS.

WE'RE VERY EXCITED ABOUT THE ENGAGEMENT OF THE CITIZENS OF THE COMMUNITY.

SO WE'RE LOOKING AT SOURCE PLACING ANIMALS, HELPING PEOPLE KEEP ANIMALS, TRANSPORTING ANIMALS, AND EVERYTHING WE CAN DO TO TRY TO HELP THE EXPLOSION IN, IN THE, UH, THE POPULATION.

UM, WE ALSO, UH, ANYONE THAT WANTS TO VOLUNTEER OR WANTS TO HEAR MORE ABOUT, WE OBVIOUSLY HAVE A WEBSITE.

UM, I WOULD LIKE TO PUT A CAVEAT ON THAT.

UM, THEY NEVER PLANNED TO STAY OPEN TO MIDNIGHT.

THE REASON FOR THAT IS THERE'S AN OCCASIONAL TIME WHEN SOMEONE MAY HAVE A CALL WHERE THEY HAVE TO FINISH UP SOME PAPERWORK AND THEY JUST WANNA BE HELD, UH, TO THE 10:00 PM TIME THAT WAS ON THE PREVIOUS SUP.

UM, THEY WANNA MAKE SURE THAT THEY'RE FOLLOWING THE RULES OF THE SPECIFIC USE PERMANENT LANGUAGE.

AND THAT ADDITIONAL TIME FOR THOSE RARE OCCASIONS WOULD ALLOW THEM TO FINISH UP PAPERWORK AND STAY WITHIN CONFORMANCE OF THE SPECIFIC USE PERMIT ORDINANCE.

HOW ABOUT YOU? UH, JUST WANT TO NOTE THAT, UH, UH, CHRIS WRIGHT IS ACTUALLY OUT OF STATE WITH HIS, UH, UH, SON WHO'S PRESENTING IN A, UH, IN A SCHOLASTIC, UH, UM, A, A SCHOLASTIC PROGRAM AND, UM, WAS I THINK IN MINNESOTA.

SO THAT'S THE ONLY REASON WHY IT'S NOT HERE TONIGHT.
